Aiko Poson Celebrations 2024

Poson Poya, commemorating the arrival of Buddhism to Sri Lanka, was celebrated at Aiko with reverence and cultural activities that introduced children to this significant occasion. The day focused on teaching values of peace, compassion, and mindfulness.

Children participated in making paper lanterns (vesak kudu), learned simple Buddhist stories through age-appropriate storytelling, and engaged in activities that promoted kindness and sharing. The celebration included traditional songs, creating lotus flowers from paper, and learning about the historical importance of Poson.

The event was designed to be educational and inclusive, helping children understand the cultural and religious significance of Poson while emphasizing universal values of kindness, wisdom, and compassion that resonate across all communities.
